Two non-technical founders had a clear problem to solve, scheduling and payments for freelance tutors, but no product and a demo to investors in a month.

The challenge

  • No codebase, no design system, no infrastructure.
  • A hard deadline: investor meetings already on the calendar.
  • Budget that ruled out a full agency build.
  • The demo had to be real, not a slide deck.

What we built

  1. Scope sprint cut the idea to the one workflow investors needed to see: book, pay, confirm.
  2. Core app built the tutor marketplace in Astro + Supabase, auth, listings, scheduling, and Stripe payments.
  3. Admin backend gave the founders a simple dashboard to manage tutors and payouts.
  4. MCP server connected the app to Google Calendar and email so bookings auto-confirmed.
  5. Deploy shipped everything to Cloud Run behind a custom domain with monitoring.

The results

Three weeks later the founders had a real, working product, not a prototype video. They ran 14 investor demos on the live build, and closed an $850k seed round on the strength of it.

The takeaway

An MVP is a sales tool with a database. Build the one workflow that proves the business, and everything else can wait.
