Ireland Is Now #2 in Europe for AI VC Funding: What It Means for Your Business BuiltBrilliant

Enterprise Ireland published a statistic in October 2026 that deserves more attention than it got: EUR 947.3 million invested across 182 Irish AI deals since the start of 2025, making Ireland second in Europe per-capita for AI venture deal count, based on PitchBook data. That is a supply-side number, but its consequences flow straight into everyday Irish business.

What the number actually says

Ireland ranks second in Europe per-capita for AI deals. The funding is real and specific: fashion-tech Artiso AI closed a EUR 3m pre-seed in October 2026, and Marc, built by a TUD graduate, raised $5m for US expansion. These are not abstract rounds; they are Irish companies hiring Irish people to build AI products.

The gap nobody talks about

Here is the interesting part. The same month, Ibec research reported that over a third of Irish businesses have not modelled AI’s impact. So Ireland is second in Europe at building AI while a third of its businesses have not started using it.

That gap is the opportunity. The tools being funded down the road are available to your business today, and most of your competitors have not opened them yet. Every month of adoption compounds: faster response times, lower admin cost, more capacity per employee.

What it means for your business

The tools are getting better, fast. The 182 deals are mostly companies making AI easier to use, not harder.
Local partners exist. You no longer need a distant vendor; the Irish AI ecosystem is deep enough to supply agents, automations, and services locally.
The first-mover window is open. When a third of businesses have not started, starting now is a competitive position, not a cost.

The practical starting point

Do not buy the funding story; use the tools. Pick one high-volume task, pilot it for 30 days, measure hours saved. The full method is in our AI for Irish SMEs guide, and the cost reality is in our AI agent cost guide.
